Cables & Gyros - BMX ‘s don’t have gears, and many only rely on a single brake, so cabling a BMX is relatively simple. The only time where it can be complicated is when a brake is used for freestyle riding, that involves the bars being rotated through 360 degrees or more. If the cables were used in the conventional way, then spinning the bars would simply result in a tangles mess. A Gyro is a device designed for BMX cable routing, specifically the rear brake cable, to allow the bars to be rotated freely, and still maintain full operation of the brake. With this device tricks such as ‘tailwhips’ and ‘barspins’ are made possible.
