Small and mighty, the Core 24 is the ideal first ‘proper’ MTB for young rippers and the MTB stars of tomorrow in that tricky transition age between child and youth.
Subject to the same amount of obsessive detail that goes into our adult range - this great little bike is designed to develop, encourage and grow riding skills with a spec that won’t hold them back.
As with all our bikes, our first priority is fit, ensuring the bike is a comfortable, safe, and confidence-inspiring place to be. With a super-compact, low standover frame, custom length, non-suspension corrected fork, and carefully selected, proportionally correct components, you can rest assured of a good fit, leaving junior free to concentrate solely on the riding and you free to try and keep up!
We've dressed the bike in parts we know will be hardy, reliable and great performers, ensuring there'll be life left in the bike for any younger brothers or sisters.
Core 24 - the first proper bike we all wish we had at their age!
Because kids are fast! New Shimano BR-M355 hydraulic disc brakes and new RM33 Centrelock hubs offer consistent, relaible braking despite the weather conditions.
Kids at this age (normally coming from a single speed of some sort) can struggle to adapt to rear shifting alone, let alone asking them to compute 3 seperate front chain rings also! A simplified 1x9 drive with optimized chainline and wide-range 11-34T cassette still provides an ample, useable range but is lighter, easier to maintain and more resilient (aka 'junior proof').
The heavy, non-performing suspension fork makes way for a Cr-Mo rigid fork that still provides ample comfort with the large volume 1.95” tyres but is significantly lighter, resulting in a better riding experience
CST C-1383 1.95” semi-slick tyres offer a nice, fast rolling compromise on a wide variety of surfaces
