Returning a similar range to a conventional double setup (30-92 gear inches, with a whole lot of useable range in between) and with mounts for racks both front and rear, the Day One 20 is the ideal low-maintenance workhorse for those wanting to perhaps carry moderate loads efficiently and comfortably over undulating landscapes. It's a supremely versatile bike - we've even seen them geared down (via a simple and affordable sprocket change out back) and handle some pretty demanding expeditions with aplomb.

AKA ‘Thor’s Hammer’ and pronounced ‘Myol-n(ee)r‘ (rolls off the tongue, eh?). Our double-butted, cold-drawn, seamless, Taiwanese chromoly tubeset also goes by the aliases of 4130, Cr-Mo and Chromo. It’s a like-for-like replacement for other, identical branded chromoly tubing and ultimately means a saving can be passed onto you via either a healthy price drop or a little more room for up-speccing elsewhere without sacrificing performance.
The Day One is a versatile bike, designed to be used daily in all conditions. As such you’ll find mudguard eyelets front & rear along with generous clearances, all designed to make fitting full length mudguards a breeze. There are also rack eyelets front & rear for light load carrying duties should you wish.
Shimano's robust 8sp 'everything inside' IGH (internal geared hub) offers a wide gear range (402%) with the mile after mile of low maintenance, hassle-free riding that comes with a fixed, optimal chainline. Follow the serivce intervals and enjoy mile-after-mile of low maintenance ownership.

That's the case here with Microshift's excellent 8sp bar-end shifter for Shimano 8sp internal geared hubs (IGH), allowing us to pair dropbars with Shimano's excellent new Nexus 8sp IGH. Light, effective and good'ol plain relaible in a get-the-job-done sort of way (the cyclotourist's prefferred shifting option)
