Product Description

The Equilibrium 20 pairs two of the finest, heritage-laden names in cycling folklore; Reynolds (est. 1923) and Campagnolo (est. 1933), in a stealthy ‘phantom black’ livery that delivers equally in both the looks and performance departments.

The Equilibrium has been a regular face in our line-up since we introduced it back in 2008, winning many-a-fan along the way with its' lightweight and durable heat-treated Reynolds 725 frame, classic looks, full-length mudguard capabilities and sublime ride and handling qualities. A modern classic you might say and every part the quintessential four-season UK road bike.

With a little more relaxed geometry vs. a conventional road race frame, the Equilibrium is our lightweight steel all-rounder, ideally suited to big mile rides where comfort, speed and efficiency are the top priorities. The surefooted geometry, spritely steel frame and lightweight carbon fork work wonders to smooth out and tame the worst of the UK broken roads and will have you descending and cornering like you’re on rails!

Sharing the same Reynolds 725 heat-treated chromoly tubeset as the Equilibrium 30, it pairs up with the more accessible, but equally beautiful 10speed Veloce groupset, finished classic polished silver no less. Unashamedly inspired by the classic JPS/Team Lotus racing colours of old, the Equilibrium 20 makes for a fetching ride but shares similarly practical touches to the rest of the range like the wider tyre and rim spec, rear rack mounts and helpfully wide gear range too (50/34 x 13/29).

Stunning classic good looks in an eminently practical package.

Customer Reviews

4 / 5 stars
All Terrain Cycles

Overall rating: Score 8 While the styling is unrepentantly retro, the handling is thoroughly modern. ‘Neutral’ is the word that perhaps best describes the 20’s characteristics, with the steering plenty fast enough for fun on speedy switchback descents but with none of the twitchiness you might expect from a razor-sharp race bike. As a bike for all seasons, there are few to match the Genesis. Indeed, if you’re after a ‘bike for life’, then the Equilibrium 20 should be on your shortlist.
