A blend of classic materials and semi-compact geometry is an effective combination for a bike that rewards high-mileage riders and those who value comfort, stability and efficiency over anything else.
With a lightweight and durable heat-treated Reynolds 725, double-butted chromoly frame, classic looks, full-length mudguard capabilities and sublime ride and handling qualities and it’s easy to see why the Equilibrium has been a staple in our range for many-a-year. A true riders’ favourite; the quintessential four-season UK road bike.
Stunning classical looks in an eminently practical package - a modern day success story that proves that steel is still a material to be reckoned with given the right application.
Classic seamless Chromoly (as above) but heat-treated to boost tensile strength. Think of it as Chromoly on steroids. It’s heated to around 1600F whereby a structural change in the steels’ crystal lattice occurs (a stronger, more uniform orientation). As it’s stronger we can away with using less of it so thinner butts are the order of the day here, helping to achieve a lighter overall frame weight, without compromising strength.
New-school wide (22/17mm), tubeless compatible Alex AT-470 rims give a vastly improved tyre profile and an increased interior volume, allowing lower pressures and increased comfort without any loss of speed. They’re shod with gumwall Clement Strada LGG 700x25c rubber for that classic nod and double-butted spokes for weight savings.
The Equilibrium is a versatile bike, designed to be used daily in all conditions. As such you’ll find mudguard eyelets front & rear along with generous clearances and long-drop 57mm brake calipers, all designed to make fitting full length mudguards a breeze. There are also rear rack eyelets out back for light load carrying duties should you wish.
The perfect mix of style and substance! The 'LGG' part gives reference to the airport code Liège in Belgium, home of the legendary Liège-Bastogne-Liège Spring Classic - giving you some indication of the type of demanding surfaces these tyres were designed for. The Strada LGG's offer fast-rolling speed, all-weather grip and a hardy puncture protection strip that make it a perfect 4-season choice.
