Bought this bike for my oversized 7yr old who wears age 10 clothes and it's a great fit for him. The steep sloping top tube allowp for a lower seat height whilst the reach isn't excessive and can easily be extended when necessary with a simple replacement stem being of the a-head design.Gears are perfect for him. Single chainring keeps things simple and the addition of a super sized granny ring to the 7 speed cassette really helps on the steeper climbs and keeps his motivation going when we go uphill. I can't see any need for more than it has for sometime to come but if so the chain guard looks like it could be replaced with a second chainring he itever needs upgrading. Gear shifters were a big thing for us 'cos he struggles with twist grip changers. The ones on this Orbea are the E-ZFire type...Just like Dad's! We went for the grey and yellow colourway option and the finish is superb. My boy has really taken to this bike but with great finish, really good class components, lightweight alloy frame with spot-on adult looking geometry, perfect gear ratios and quality shifting I'm not sure what's not to like! the only improvement would be to disc or better v- brakes but they work and seem ok. At the price it beats many bikes £100 more expensive.....click the button and buy one, you won't be disappointed!

Orbea minipro geometry.

Orbea’s MiniPro geometry is what marks the new MX and their distinctive performance. This geometry is particularly compact and oriented to sports performance. 1. A sloping geometry provides stability, better handling, and accessibility. Designed even for more experienced riders who want to negotiate impossibly difficult off-road descents. 2. A shorter bottom bracket provides stability and easy rides in uphill and downhill sections. 3. The rear part is especially short for better traction and climbing capacity, and even for a rush or two.

We wanted to make bikes that kids could ride do what they wanted to do, embarking on real adventures ending at dinner time. So we also worked on transmission until we came up with the X1 system, which uses particularly large rear sprockets and a single front dérailleur. This is a simple, light solution. 1. The larger X1 rear sprocket is better for climbing than the traditional small one. 2. The single dérailleur makes the system easier to use and lighter too.

SL Weight.

The light weight of Orbea’s products for little kids and youngsters deliver an amazing usability. Making bicycles for kids and youngsters lighter has very important effects. Why? 1. Taking the bike and rider together, the former is proportionally larger when the user is a kid, and so it has a stronger influence on the kid's strength. 2. Every kilogram a bike maker can subtract from a bike’s total weight counts –the lighter the bike, the lower the proportion of its weight in the total. The proportion is even larger in a kid's bike. If the bike weighs less, it can be handled more easily at a standstill, which is really important for kids to have a nicer experience.
