  • SM-RT70 Ice Tech rotors give excellent performance using the proven Shimano Centre Lock system providing excellent rigidity and security with an easy set-up
  • The clad steel / alloy / steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through the aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50 deg C. When used with Ice Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300 deg C, this provides great improvements in performance all round
  • Ice Tech rotors achieve long pad life, less noise and less fade due to improved heat dispersion
  • Rotor contact surface has been developed for excellent pad clearing and cooling which increases pad performance and life
  • Comes complete with lockring


Ice TECHNOLOGIES

The fade, which can occur to rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negative impact on the braking performance. SHIMANO has adopted ICE TECHNOLOGY Rotor and ICE TECHNOLOGY Pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The clad rotor blade, which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance achieving from 400°C to 300°C surface temperature. Also, the radiation fin has been adopted for the pad. Moreover, the clad rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.

Centre Lock System
The CENTRE LOCK system makes an easy rotor installation possible with spline mount and a lock ring. The lock ring mounting system reduces the total working hours by shortening the amount of time of both installation and de-installation. In addition, the secure fixing by the spline mount enhances precision and rigidity while improving braking efficiency.
