When choosing the appropriate adapter to accommodate a larger disc size, it is essential to exercise caution to guarantee the correct size is selected. Ashima's stated disc compatibility is based on OEM front 160mm and rear 140mm discs. However, in recent years, some OEMs have fitted oversized discs to the front and/or rear; in such instances, the brake calliper will have an adapter installed. If this is the case, the OEM adapter will need to be removed (Ashima recommends this), or you should opt for an adapter that corresponds to the next standard disc size down from your requirement.
For example, if you have a PM brake calliper, PM forks, and wish to upgrade the front disc from 160 to 203 and the rear from 140 to 180, you will need the following adapters: Front AU32 & Rear AU04.
