The CC-3.2 wear gauge from Park Tool shows exactly whether a chain is still within the tolerance of 0, 5% (for 11- and 12-speed chains) or 0.75% (for 5- to 10-speed chains) elongation - the values at which most manufacturers recommend changing the chain.
