With a longer drop to make it compatible with larger tyre sizes, the R451 Brake Caliper (57mm Drop) delivers fast pad-to-rim engagement and powerful stopping ability. It's also compatible with a wide range of Shimano's drop bar levers.
The super SLR dual pivot design of the Shimano R451 road bike brake keeps operating friction to a minimum, improving braking performance. The 57mm drop is measured from the central mounting bolt to a virtual point between the pads, which aligns with the centre of the pad at its lowest point.
